Show Notes

Lisa discusses Demon Copperhead,  by Barbara Kingsolver, which is very popular and is a similar book to Charles Dickens’s  David Copperfield.

A number of reviews, including The Washington Post have said this was the best book of 2022. The New York Times says this book is a close retelling of David Copperfield and there aren’t a lot of major plot differences between the two books.

This article states that you can read Demon Copperhead without reading David Copperfield.

Kelly on Goodreads says the book is stereotypical, painting people from Appalachia poorly.
